Xiaomi Launched Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro with Quad Camera Setup and 4500 mAh Battery

You know Xiaomi disrupted the smartphone market. When all the other manufacturers were following almost the same pricing strategy, they made the budget-sensitive users to aim high in terms of specifications. That’s how other Chinese vendors got into the same bandwagon.

Realme came out as a massive blow to the Beijing-based brand. Not only the Oppo spinoff followed the nomenclature, but the pricing pattern as well. Realme resembles Redmi in terms of the specs to price ratio. A budget-centric customer always eyes at the list of features before they hit the Checkout button. In order to fight the new kid on the block, Xiaomi has just released Redmi Note 8 series in India.

Both models already hit the market in China. That’s why you get to see many review videos on YouTube. The lineup is coming to the country a month after the release in China. So, without further ado, let’s have a look at the features.

The regular Redmi Note 8 flaunts a 6.3-inch full HD+ display with an 81.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. It has a dewdrop notch on top of the screen with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There are two color variants available; Crystal Green and Crystal Blue.

As for the optics, the rear houses a quad-camera setup featuring a 48 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 lens, 8 MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 2 MP dedicated macro sensor, and another 2 MP one for depth sensor. Of course, there is an LED flash and support for Phase Detection Autofocus and HDR. Upfront, the selfie camera measures 13 MP in resolution and f/2.0 in the aperture.

Under the hood, the device packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with Adreno 610 and up to 6 GB RAM. There are three RAM/storage variants; 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB, and 6/128 GB. You can expand it up to 256 GB using an external SD card. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh.

When it comes to Note 8 Pro, the IPS LCD display measures 6.53-inch in size with full HD+ resolution. Although the screen-to-body ratio is slightly higher, the pixel density is a bit on the lower side.

As we go down into the innards, the chipset inside is MediaTek Helio G90T. Akin to the standard Note 8, you can buy it in the same three storage variants. The back camera setup is almost the same. But, the primary sensor is a 64 MP one. And, a 20 MP sensor resides in the front camera. The battery capacity is 4500 mAh.
